GTL: Winter Formal Makeup

Posted on January 26 2015

January is rapidly coming to an end and that can only possibly mean one other thing, THE WINTER FORMAL/WINTER DANCE IS COMING UP! To all my fellow high school beauties, I know that it can be a hassle (and pricey) to get your dress, hair, nails, and makeup done, believe me, I've been there but have no fear because I've got you covered! Well, on the makeup part at least haha! Here is a quick, easy, and versatile makeup look that I demonstrated on my 15-year old sister that anyone can rock and look fabulous in! The best part is that I only used ONE palette to achieve this look but feel free to use whatever you have. Now, lets get started! For this look I used the BH Cosemetics Neutral palette. photo 3 (3) photo 2 (3) Step 1: After applying primer to your eyelids, apply a skin tone or off white shade onto your brow bone. photo 4 photo 3 (5) Step 2: Apply a light brown transition shade onto the crease. This will help with blending later on when you apply other colors to the crease. photo 5 photo 4 (3) Step 3: Define the crease a little more by adding a darker brown shade into the crease. Blend in small circular motions keeping the color in the crease and not blending it too far up to your brow bone. photo 1 photo 5 (3) Step 4: Apply a rose gold shade onto the lid. photo 3 photo 1 (6) Step 5: Apply a deep brown shade onto the outer parts of your eyelids and concentrate the color onto this area. This is also known as the "outer V" because you are making a sideways V motion when you blend. photo 2 photo 2 (6) Step 6: Apply loose glitter onto the eyelids for that extra UMPHHH! (Optional) I used Wet n Wild's Mega Shimmer. photo 2 (4) photo 1 (3) Step 7: Apply the light brown shade that was used to deepen the crease earlier onto the bottom lash line. Then, apply the deep brown shade on top for a little more smokiness. BLEND. photo 3 (4) photo 4 (2) Step 8: Apply eyeliner and false eyelashes. Step 9: After finishing the rest of your face (foundation, concealer, blush and bronzer) pair this look with a nude lipstick shade, or any other shade of your choice, with a little bit of gloss applied to the center of your lips for a cute little pout. photo(3) photo 2 (7) And your look is complete! I hope this makeup pictorial helped and I hope you all have a blast and dance the night away! Enjoy it while you can because high school is most definitely going to fly by (at least for me it did) and always remember to be safe. Until next time, stay weird my friends =) xoxo, Jenn
